So much rain today

It started to rain while I was on the bus today, so we just had to run home to the apartment, but it still looked like we just went for a swim in our pool!
I found some great photos online while I'm sitting here waiting for the rain to stop and the party to begin tonight.
What a good photographer she is.

It's still O-WEEK

It is still o-week and that means a lot of fun until sunday! Friday was the beach party and today it is something called a traffic light party, that means you have to dress in certain colours of clothes, I think that will be so much fun! Here are some pictures from this week! By the way someone has asked if o-week is the same as "fadderuke" in Norway, and the answer is yes :D

Fun at orientation

Orientation for international students. A lot of things are happening: games, information, getting to know people and a reptile show that you can see pictures from here.

A video from the surpriseparty in Norway

A video from my last weekend in Norway before I moved. Here is a movie with most of the girls who held a surprise party for me. They were trying to show me a movie they had made, but just listen and you realize how difficult it was!
A thanks to Marte Langøy who actually filmed us and posted it on youtube. She also has a blog you can visit on martelango.blogg.no. I am sitting just in front of her, and of course clueless that they actually made a movie about me and the girls. FUN!

School work, this may be boring to read!

This is probably not interesting for anyone other then my parents and grandparents, but here is how the school program is:

I have eight subjects that are compulsory for the first year, I have to choose four I must take the first semester and then I have to take the other four the second semester. That means I have no electives in my first year, a little disappointing, but I think it will be better the second year!

Semester 1:
- Employment relations
- Information systems
- Government- business relation
- Accounting for decision making (!)

Semester 2:
- Economics for decision making 1
- Introduction to marketing
- Management Concepts
- Business statistics (!)

So this is what my year looks like, sounds fun?
Luckily I have the weekends off, so I could have had bad luck :)
Scool starts officially on March 1. But we have workshops from this week and until then.

Just a picture from my last week in Norway, so you guys back home won't forget me :)

Finally, I have seen the famous beach Surfers Paradise. It takes about 15 minutes with the bus from the uni village to Surfers. Here is also a lot of shopping, restaurants and bars. You just have to love it!

My first day in Aus

I was up early today, still yetlag. So was my room mate, so I got to know him :) An hour later a boy from Norway comes over, and we decided to go shopping because the apartment is EMPTY!

The first breakfast, mmm healty!

The boys are picking out linens and pilows. Here we bought sheets, towels, washing powder, forks and knives, some basic food and stuff like that :) we even bought tupperware products, thats new for me.

And something for schoolwork

I got my enrolement pack, including my student ID.

After the shopping we went down to the pool and just hang out there for the day, meeting some of the other students living here at uni village.

I got a new mobilephone today including a new australian number:
0412179556. I'm not sure what you in Norway have to dial, but this is the number when you live here, so just try it out or ask me later when I have figured it out :)

The university village - my home

Here is my home for at least the next 6 months. I live at campus, or university village as they call it. Here we are 5 people living together, both girls and boys. For now it's only me and a canadian guy who also arrived today, but I think the rest of them will arrive in the weekend, so that will be exciting!

The kitchen and diningtable

My room

My shelf with memories from home

The very SMALL bathroom that 5 people share!

I must say that this is a very nice place, but the bathroom could have been bigger and there could have been a cleaning lady here maybe once a week or something since we are so many peple, but no such luck, we have to clean everything for ourself the next months, I have to say I'm getting pretty good at housework already :)

My travel route

Here is my travel route. I went on tuesday and I'm here now, finally!
Oslo- Brussels (2hr)
Brussel- Abu dhabi (6hr 30min)
Abu dhabi- Singapore (7hr 30min)
Singapore- Brisbane (7hr 45min)

So you can see that this was a long trip! Fortunately, I met some other norwegians and the time went pretty fast. Here is a picture from the airport in Singapore

And when the plane took of from Norway I opened a gift I had recived, it was pretty sweet :)

The time difference is: Gmt +10, so that means I am 9 hours in front of Norway. When the clock is 12.00 at your place it's 09.00 here.
