bringing color to our apartment

Today i wanted to brighten up our apartment =)
Since it's only the boys and I living here, we haven't really done much to make our apartment nicer, so we have been hanging up some posters and making it feel a little bit more like a home :)

Changing my degree?

I have been thinking about changing my degree next semester.
Now i'm doing a bachelor of business, where all the subjects first year is mandatory and then the second  year you choose your major (accounting, marketing, or whatever you want to continue with), and then the third year you build up on that. I feel business is a good degree because you can use it for so much later, since i am still not a hundred procent sure what i want to work with yet, but it can also be pretty boring some times and im not sure if i want to do this the rest of my life..

I have looked over all the degree and courses you can do here at Griffith, because i definitely want to stay here at this campus and i found a degree that might be more interesting! It's psychological science, and that seems pretty interesting. It's not a psychology degree as some of you have asked me, its more research and its basically science!

I looked over the degree structure and i defintely looks hard!! goodbye party and hello study!!!
I would love to get your feedback if you have a tips on people who might have done this degree or if you think i would do better in business ;) i already talked to some of you about it, but just send me an email if you want :) :)

mid-semester exam

This weekend i have been studying, because i had two exam's on saturday; one in accounting (that i really dislike) and one in employment relations (that im doing okay in). I don't really know how they went since its my first exams in University and i don't really know how they will grade them, so it will be interesting getting them back soon :) On monday i have another exam, in marketing, and i think that will go well actually, it's just soooo many chapters to read (from 1-7)! In my last subject, government- business relations we don't have any mid-semester exams, we have business submissions to hand in and then the final exam in june, as all my subjects have ;)

But it really helps that i can study outside and the sun is SHINING :D
i should mention that it's getting colder here, because winter is coming soon, so i actually needed a sweater yesterday! the winter is in june/july and it get's down to maybe 5-10 degrees, but that's the Gold Coast, other parts of the country is much colder!!

Byron Bay

In our easter vacation i first took my diving sertificate the first weekend, and i spent the rest of my week in Byron Bay. Byron is in New South Wales, so i can say i crossed the boarders, woho, but it's still just an hour drive from the Gold Coast. We were four girls going on this trip and we were looking forward to going without the guys and our roommates so we could meet some new people.
Byron is the most laid-back place, it's a very small hippietown with a lot of backpackers and a very nice place to stay for a couple of days. We didn't want to leave, but we are already thinking about going back in two weeks :) :)

I got my diving licence!

Yessss! I got my diving licence/sertificate this weekend :) i will admit i wasn't really planning on doing this, but after i moved to Australia, i feel like i want to do everything! So diving seemed like a good place to start since i have never dived before, but Australia got some of the best places in the world to go diving. We have all heard about the Great Barrier Reef before ;)
So now i have an international diving licence which gives me the opertunity to dive anywhere in the world, and i can also take a dive master course to be able to go deeper, and so on, but i am very happy with exploring what i am doing now.

I haven't got my card yet, because PADI have to send it, so I will probably recive it in a month, that's why i don't have a picture of my real licence ;)
We had to do a lot of skills under water to complete this course. Some of them were:
- filling up your mask with water and then empty it, still under water. loosing your mask and taking it on again.
- taking all of your equiptment of under water, your west, weight belt ++.
- you need to know all the signals for beeing out of air, needing help, going up and down++
- they cut of your air so you can feel how that is and not panic. you need to learn how to borrow air from your buddy as well as letting him use yours.
- emergency descent; how you can go up to the surface in an emergency without hurting your ears, nose and so on.
- It's even more exercises, but probably not so interesting for you guys! it's also a written exam the last day!

I DO RECOMEND THIS TO EVERYONE- IT'S REALLY FUN!!!

Toga, toga, toga

On thursday we had a toga party- never been to one before, but this is definitely something i want to attend again! Look at all the fun outfits, people were creative! :)

Happy (almost) birthday to me!

I wasn't really planning on telling anyone that I lost my old ipod, because i always seem to loose something! But here is the story: On the airplane home from Spain two weeks before i moved to Australia, i lost my ipod, it fell out on my bag sometime during this flight. I actually thought i could survive without one, but that is hopeless, so i got a new one today! It's the new i-pod touch and i absolutely LOVE IT! I recomend it to everyone, i can watch movies, look at my pictures, go online and of course there is room for a ton of music :) And no, it's not my birthday yet, but since its only 2 months and a couple of days left, im celebrating in advance!

St. Patricks day

On wednesday we celebrated St. Patricks day, or St. Paddys day as everyone calles it here! It was the best night I ever had in Australia, it was so much fun, and i will definitly take this tradition back home to Norway. We went to the three biggest irish pubs in Surfers; Wazy, O'malleys and Fiddlers green, it was so crowded everywhere, but the best night ever!

 

My weekend

I was at a pub crawl this weekend, it was a night of knights, to support the rugby team actually. A pub crawl basically means going around to pubs/bars in Surfers and we all wear the same t-shirts. It's a lot of fun and not to mention social :)
