Some of my favorites here in Aus

Here as some of the places i love already, but there will be more to come later!

Forever new! #1 place her

Sportsgirl! This store has nothing to do with sports at all, so the name is unappropriate, but they have really nice clothes.

This is normally not the place i would by my clothes, but they have some treasures from time to time :)

Boost juice bar, absolutely genius.

Ben & Jerry's ice cream, love it!

There is only one city here i could really love- Surfers Paradise!

Happy (almost) birthday to me!

I wasn't really planning on telling anyone that I lost my old ipod, because i always seem to loose something! But here is the story: On the airplane home from Spain two weeks before i moved to Australia, i lost my ipod, it fell out on my bag sometime during this flight. I actually thought i could survive without one, but that is hopeless, so i got a new one today! It's the new i-pod touch and i absolutely LOVE IT! I recomend it to everyone, i can watch movies, look at my pictures, go online and of course there is room for a ton of music :) And no, it's not my birthday yet, but since its only 2 months and a couple of days left, im celebrating in advance!
Here's the beauty-

St. Patricks day

On wednesday we celebrated St. Patricks day, or St. Paddys day as everyone calles it here! It was the best night I ever had in Australia, it was so much fun, and i will definitly take this tradition back home to Norway. We went to the three biggest irish pubs in Surfers; Wazy, O'malleys and Fiddlers green, it was so crowded everywhere, but the best night ever!

My weekend

I was at a pub crawl this weekend, it was a night of knights, to support the rugby team actually. A pub crawl basically means going around to pubs/bars in Surfers and we all wear the same t-shirts. It's a lot of fun and not to mention social :)
Now you also can see some of the girls im hanging out with! A crazy buch of good looking girls, haha :) and there is more photos on facebook.

Finally i am posting the calendar for semester 1. I know many people have asked about it because of the vacations and so on, but it's just soo much to do and soo little time!! I just tried to post it the way we got in on our mail but i'm sorry to say the blog doesn't support the file.
Anyway, here it is, just ask if i forgot to mention something :)

05-09 april: mid-semester vacation for all students

07-11 june: study week for all campuses
12-26 june: examination for all students and campuses

28 june- 23 july: student intersemester vacation, all campuses (this is my summer vacation seen from a norwegian point of view).

19-23 july is orientation for the next semester, so even if it is voluntery i'm still going to atend this :) So i have about three weeks vacation in the end of june and beginning of july :) :) :)

1 MONTH!

Now I have been "down under" for one month!
It feels like I've been here longer, probably just because i have done so much already. I really want to travel and see more of Australia, but Uni is way to much work to just take some days off. Hopefully I will get to do that in my vacations, because there are soo many beautiful places to see here, i can't wait!!

I'm just going to post some random pictures for you guys, so you can see a little bit more about how i'm doing in Aus :)

As you can tell this a green bag from Woolworths (the same as coop, rimi, ultra in Norway). I use theese bags everytime i go shopping for groceries. They are a great way to help the environment, and you can actually get twice as much in this as you can in a plastic bag. AND, one of the first days here, the plastic bags ripped open in the middle of the street-not fun, so i encourage everyone to buy something similar :)

Our TV is finally working (it took about three weeks), but it only got four channels, so i never watch it anyway!

THIS IS WHERE I SPEND ALL MY TIME!!
Here is our library, it's so big, I haven't seen it all yet.
Alright, I don't spend ALL my time there, i have a social life as well, but I do spend a big amount of time there actually. So mum and dad- be proud, haha.

Package from Norway. Thanks! I know i will recive more of them in the future, lucky me, and they are appreciated :)
I got some clothes and shoes, washing powder (don't ask why), and of course norwegian food like brown cheese and leverpostei.

I can't belive this picture is only taken a month ago. It feels like forever! Here are some of my friends from Norway, I miss you all! And to all of my friends and family that is not in this picture -
I miss you just as much!!!

Now it's just me and the boys again

In our cozy apartment we were five people. Brock and Steve from Canada, Nicholas from France, Cathrine from Australia (and China) and me from Norway.
Cathrine moved out this weekend, she decided to go to another school so now we are back to the four people we were in the begging! The only problem is that she has to find someone who can take over her lease in the village, but that is difficult since school already started, so maybe we won't get another member of the family until summer. But we are hoping she will find someone, and maybe a girl? that would be nice!
Good luck, Cathy!

The day she left she wrote notes to all of us on our doors, that was very sweet. if you can't really see what is says: "hey yall, thank you for bringing me out of my shell. each of you have eccentric personalities. Lots of love, Cathy xx".

My improved room

Today I have been at the biggest shopping center in the Gold Coast, twenty minutes from here. And thank you so much, Ella, for wanting to go there with me, now my room does not feel like a prison cell anymore!! When I first came here everything was white and the bedding i bought here at the village (without seeing it first), was also white and a little gray. I am so lucky we had a car today, or I would never get all of this with me back home. Normally we have to take the bus everywhere, that is especially boring if you are shopping groceries and you can only shop what you manage to carry back.

I got a big mirror. Girls can relate to this one! We only have a small mirror in the bathroom, and I need a bigger one so I can see what I am wearing. And the wall looks a little better with something on it.

I got a basket for my closet, so i can put swimwear an stuff like that :)

Then I got a new quilt cover and pillow case. As I said, the one I had for the last three weeks have been all white and reminded me of a prison cell, since everything else is also white!

I got a much needed fan. It has been so hot some days and the air in my room has been awful. Finally I got one, and in a couple of months I have to get a heater as well, because the apartmens can get really cold.

This is for when I'm washing clothes, going to make my life soo much easier :)

I got a second pillow. It just makes my bed feel better, and it looks better!

As you can see here, it looks better then the first picture i posted on this blog. I got more in my shelf at the left there, and of course the bed and fan.

My closet is starting to fill up, so are my shoes, and nothing is better then that! My mirror is behind here so you can't really see it. But I just like it soo much more here now, feels more like home :)

First day of school

I started school monday, March 1. I had introduction to marketing first, I think that went well, and later that day I had Government- business relations, that was very interesting, but definitly harder! Already our first day at school our tutor asked us about ministers in Australia and said we had to pay attention to the australian news. This is so much harder if you are an international student like I am!
Here is my timetable:

As you can see i have tuesdays and fridays off, but the other three days are long! Especially on monday when I have classes from 9 in the morning until 8 in the evening. They require that you spend 10 hours of studying to each subject every week!! I have four subjects so that mean I should spend 40 hours each week on school work. As you can see I have 2 hour of lecture and 1 hour of tutorial in each subject. So this means I have a lot of self study.

Here are some of my books. I still miss two books that was sould out in our bookshop but hopefully I will get them by the end of the week because we have already been assigned with texts to read by the end of the week.

Here are my subjects!

This is the campus map. This campus is very big and I have courses in a lot of different places. Especially on mondays when I got ten minutes to run from one side to another. It can be interesting to see how that goes :)
